Identify Those in Need
Research-based data models proactively identify officers in need of wellness supports.
Wellness “apps” rely on hand-raising. Unlike our Wellness Solution, they don’t offer any contextual information or understanding of the cumulative impact on mental health and wellness at the individual level. Without this information it is impossible to intervene and help real officers experiencing real need.
Every significant event, or yearly reminder of a significant event, that an officer experiences has definable levels of impact on that officer’s well-being. Equally important are the effects of fatigue and sleep impacts experienced by officers working extensive hours.
First Sign Precision Wellness combines data from multiple applications over time into one central repository. Through our research and academic partners, we understand the cumulative effect of exposure and exhaustion.

Build the Plan
Facilitated wellness planning to ensure confidential follow-through
Once an officer in need has been identified, it can be challenging for supervisors and command staff to effectively intervene. Most agencies are not equipped to have sometimes difficult conversations with their officers, much less build and document wellness planning and then follow up with those officers in a regimented and authentic way.
First Sign Precision Wellness supports agency leaders with scripts, checklists and tutorials to help facilitate conversations and subsequent plans of action to support an individual officer’s well-being. That plan of action can be self-initiated by an officer or managed collaboratively. Every step is tracked confidentially online through Benchmark’s case management functionality.
Benchmark’s 24/7 trauma-informed, culturally competent clinicians are on call to help discuss individual officers, build a plan, or sit in live on a conversation.
Support Resilience
Online content, tools and interventions that are scientifically proven to make a difference in officers’ lives
Not all wellness content is created equal. Wellness “apps” stock up on content libraries that emphasize quantity and breadth. At Benchmark Analytics, we partner with experts to offer curated, research-backed, proven tools and interventions explicitly created for the law enforcement field.
The Benchmark Wellness Academy™ is a comprehensive support system that has been developed in partnership with researchers at Washington State University and other academic institutions, foundations and research organizations and in conjunction with clinical experts. It has been proven, through randomized control trials at large urban police departments, to have a statistically significant impact on the well-being of officers. Officers receive scheduled counseling services with culturally competent clinicians who are trained to deal with the unique needs of police officers.
